Confucius Institute Headquarters Experience Base held the 2025 International Chinese Language DayIssuing time:2025-04-28 16:46 On April 22, the 2025 International Chinese Language Day was jointly organized by the Confucius Institute Headquarters Experience Base of China Confucius Research Institute as well as the School of International Education and the School of Libel Arts of Qufu Normal University. Forty International students from Egypt, Poland, Russia, Kenya, Nigeria and other countries, together with some Chinese students majoring in Chinese international education participated in activities. With the theme of “Chinese Language: A Gift through Time and Space”, this activity is based on “Chinese + Chinese Traditional Culture Practical Education”, enabling students to experience the charm of Chinese culture.
The activity was opened in the solemn ceremony of paying homage to the master. The international students were led by the guide to understand the design concept, architectural features and cultural connotations of China Confucius Research Institute, and appreciated its ancient architectural style in body.
Through the exhibition “Great Confucius”, students had a more intuitive understanding of Confucius’ life and thoughts. They experienced seal carving, movable-type printing, topography and the production of thread-bound books in Confucius Institute Headquarters Experience Base. They learned the ancient arts, from writing characters to making them a book. Through this dialog across time and space, the beauty of the Chinese language shines with the luster of a new era at the fingertips of these youngsters.
“This activity allows me to understand more about Chinese culture and my Chinese language is improved.” Anqi from Egypt said, “the process of making seal carving and thread-bound books, not only enhanced our friendship with Chinese students, but also established a kind of cultural resonance across borders.”
Relying on the rich Confucian cultural resources of China Confucius Research Institute, this activity gave full play to the function of the Confucius Institute Headquarters Experience Base, and deepened international students’ apprehension of the intrinsic connection of “Chinese Characters—Confucianism— Chinese Civilization” through cultural experience. Taking this event as an opportunity, the Institute will continue to innovate the forms of cultural communication to tell China’s story, and contribute to the high-quality development of international Chinese language education. |
