In order to support agricultural exchange and cooperation between China and Latin America, and to train young talents from Latin American countries who are proficient in Chinese language and agriculture, the signing ceremony of the first "Chinese Language and Agricultural Science & Technology Development Center" projects between China and Mexico, China and Brazil, was held online on June 15. Prof. Ma Jianfei, Director-General of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC); Liu Yahong, President of South China Agricultural University; José Solís Ramírez, President of the Autonomous University of Chapingo, Mexico; and Evandro Aparecido Soares da Silva, President of the Federal University of Mato Grosso, Brazil, attended the ceremony and signed the agreements. Chinese, Brazilian and Mexican Diplomatic envoys and education officials attended the ceremony, including Zhu Qingqiao, Chinese Ambassador to Mexico; Jesús Seade, Mexican Ambassador to China; Frederico S. Duque Estrada Meyer, Brazilian Consul General in Guangzhou; Shu Jianping, Chinese Cultural Counselor in Brazil; Wang Binwei, Secretary of the Party Committee, South China Agricultural University; Dr. Jing Wei, Deputy Director-General of CLEC; Na Jia, Deputy Director of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province; Cang Feng, Deputy Director of the Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office.

Wang Binwei, Liu Yahong, José Solís Ramírez and Evandro Aparecido Soares da Silva expressed their pleasure to host the first batch of "Chinese Language and Agricultural Science & Technology Development Center" in the world, and thanked the CLEC for its strong support, and will make great efforts to develop this project, and take it as an opportunity to gradually expand the comprehensive cooperation and integrated development in talent training, academic exchange, agricultural technology training, etc. Na Jia said that the Department of Education of Guangdong Province will fully support the development of the project to promote the sharing of quality educational resources between Guangdong Province and Latin America.

Zhu Qingqiao said that the "Chinese Language and Agricultural Science & Technology Development Center" project in Mexico is a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mexico, and will make greater contributions to the enhancement of people-to-people and cultural exchanges and agricultural cooperation. Jesús Seade said that the "Chinese Language and Agricultural Science & Technology Development Center" project is a symbol of cooperation, dialogue and understanding, hoping that through language learning and innovative cooperation in agriculture, it will promote the synergistic development of China and Latin America and enhance people's friendship. Du Fei pointed out that with language as the bridge and science and technology as the foundation, the "Chinese Language and Agriculture Science & Technology Development Center" will definitely boost the practical cooperation between Pakistan and China. According to Shu Jianping, the establishment of the center will not only promote the in-depth cooperation between China and Brazil in the field of agricultural science and technology, but also creatively develop Chinese language teaching in the central and western regions of Brazil, which is bound to advance the China-Brazil cooperation.

According to Prof. Ma Jianfei, CLEC's supporting the establishment of the project is in line with the actual needs of Latin American countries and will provide career development opportunities for Chinese language students from various countries. In the following step, the CLEC will continue to play the advantages of professional Chinese language education institutions, effectively strengthen the dialogue and exchange with all sectors in Latin America. We will promote the joint training of high-level language talents and two-way language and cultural exchanges between China and Latin America, and jointly build a solid foundation of friendship between China and Latin America.

With the deepening of practical cooperation between China and Latin American countries in various fields, China and Latin America have strong complementarities and broad prospects for cooperation in agriculture. The training of local talents who know both Chinese and agricultural science and technology is a common issue for the education sector in China and Latin America.
