The second World Confucian Conference was opened at Qufu on September 27th.
Over 300 renowned Confucian experts and scholars from over 30 countries and regions such as the mainland of China, U.S.A., South Korea, Australia, Japan, Spain, Taiwan, Hong Kong and so on attended the conference.
The purpose of this conference is to promote the international research, exchange and cooperation of Confucianism, enrich and prosperize the world culture through this international platform of academic research and cultural exchange.
The delegates discussed on the following topics: the inheritance and development of Confucianism under the multi-culture context, Confucianism and social economic development, Confucianism and literature and art creation.
Meanwhile, the highest academic award in world Confucianism research—Confucius Culture Prize was selected, aiming at encouraging the Confucian individuals, organizations and non-governmental institutes to strengthen the exchange of Confucianism achievements, speeden the inheritance and spread of the Confucian culture, and promote the multi-culture construction and development.
This conference was sponsored by Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China and People’s Government of Shandong Province and organized by Chinese National Academy of Arts, Shandong Provincial Department of Culture, China Confucius Foundation, International Confucian Association, People’s Government of Ji’ning City and Chinese Confucius Research Institute.
