Language is the best key to understanding a country. Local Chinese teachers play an irreplaceable role in helping students deepen their understanding of Chinese language and culture. In order to further meet the needs of Indonesian Chinese language teaching and improve the teaching level of Indonesian local Chinese teachers, the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Beijing and the ASEAN China Center jointly organized a series of online training for local Chinese teachers in Indonesian primary and secondary schools and universities.
The Training Course for Local Chinese Teachers in primary and secondary schools in Indonesia started on October 19. During the week-long training, 100 local Chinese teachers in primary and secondary schools learned about classroom management and teaching activities, improvement of teaching methods, and the use of online teaching resources.
On October 26, the closing ceremony of the training course was held online. Dr. Ma Jianfei, Director of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation; Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of the ASEAN China Center; Dino R Kusnadi, Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Beijing; Iwan Syahril, Director of Teacher and Educational Personnel; Prof. Dr AH. Rofi'uddin, M.Pd, President of Malang State University; Sudarsono, representative of participating teachers, and Liao Guirong, representative of teaching experts attended the closing ceremony of the training course and delivered speeches, reviewing the results and gains of the training.
Primary and secondary school teachers and teaching experts who participated in the training attended the graduation ceremony together. They positively affirmed the significance of this training, saying that through the training, the Chinese level and teaching ability have been improved, and they has further understood Chinese culture. After returning to work, they will apply what they have learned to teaching practice, contributing to promoting the development of Chinese language education in Indonesia and strengthen cultural and educational exchanges between the two countries.
On October 27, Training Course for Local Chinese Teachers in Indonesia's Universities was opened online. Ms. Yu Tianqi, Deputy-General of the Centre for Language Education and Cooperation; Nizam, Director-General of the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology; Dino R Kusnadi, Ambassador of Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Beijing; Murpin Josua Sembiring, President of Ma Chung University of Indonesia, and Xiao Xiangzhong, a representative of the teaching experts, attended and delivered speeches, encouraging the teachers participating in the training the expectations that they would seize the opportunity to improve themselves.
One hundred and three Chinese language teachers and teaching experts from 40 universities in Indonesia attended the opening ceremony. The following week-long training will be based on the characteristics of university teaching, teaching methods, teaching activities, language research, online teaching resources, and HSK exams.
