In order to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China, to commemorate the 2570th anniversary of Confucius’ birthday and to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech addressed during his inspection of Confucius Research Institute, on September 27th, Confucius Research Institute held “Chinese Traditional Ritual and Music and Eastern Asian Civilizaiton” High-Level Forum. Over 400 people including more than 30 experts from Seoul National University, Renmin University of China, Wuhan University, East China Normal University and so on, and people from all walks of life such as Temple of Heaven in Beijing, Jinan Publishing House, Qufu Normal University, Jining University and so on took part in the forum.
The member of the standing committee of Jining Municipal Party Committee, head of Organizational Department of Jining Municipal Party Committee, and secretary of the Party Committee of Confucius Research Institute Kong Fanping attended the opening ceremony and extended a speech. The dean of Confucius Research Institute researcher Yang Chaoming presided over the speech and interaction session. The deputy dean of Confucius Research Institute Liu Xubing presided over the opening ceremony.
Professor of Wuhan University Hu Zhihong, Nishan Scholar at Confucius Research Institute and professor of Seoul National University Guo Yi, professor of East China Normal University Fu Changzhen and dean of Confucius Research Institute Yang Chaoming gave the speeches of the New Culture Movement and Chinese Tradition together with Western Culture, Traditional Ritual and Music and Life——Exploring the Meaning of Life, the Subjectivity of Culture and the Uniqueness of a Nation——Also on the Modern Vitality of the Confucian Civilization on Traditional Ritual and Music, Civilized China and Moral Life respectively.
After the speech, the experts carried out warm interaction with the audience, replying a series of questions including the current situation of traditional ritual and music civilization in modern times, our attitude to traditional ritual and music civilization, how to carry forward traditional ritual and music civilization and so on.
