On the afternoon of August 14th, 2018, the functional operation acceptance meeting of the experience zone of Chinese excellent traditional culture in life application of Confucius Institute Headquarters was held at Confucius Research Institute. The panel composed of experts and scholars from such universities as Confucius Institute of HOWEST, Confucius Institute of University College Dublin, Osaka University, Renmin University of China, Shandong University, Shandong Normal University, Qufu Normal University carried out the functional-operation acceptance of the experience zone. The Party Secretary, vice secretary-general and deputy director of Confucius Institute Headquarters and the vice president and secretary of International Society for Chinese Language Teaching Ma Jianfei, the member of the standing committee of Jining Municipal Communist Party Committee, director of the Organization Department and the Party Secretary of Confucius Research Institute Kong Fanping, and Dean of Confucius Research Institute Yang Chaoming attended the meeting.
After comprehensive scoring, the panel agreed the functional-operation acceptance of the experience zone.
Ma Jianfei extended gratitude to the leaders, experts and staff taking part in the construction and recognized the outcome of the planning and construction of the project. He emphasized that we must make adjustment according to the feedbacks from the visitors in the coming days. He required us to deepen our awareness, to combine the “small resource” with the “big resources” together, and to better sort out Confucianism. He believed that Confucius Institute Headquarter Experience Center will definitely make due contribution to the great process of building the community of shared future for mankind.
Kong Fanping pointed out that Confucius Institute Headquarter Experience Center was both a measure to carry out General Secretary Xi Jinping’s requirement of “making clear four points” and an important platform for the foreign students to further experience Chinese culture after visiting the “San Kong”. The completion and operation of the experience zone will definitely promote the Confucianism highland construction of Confucius Research Institute and the model zone construction of cultural Jining construction. Confucius Research Institute will take this chance to enhance the exchange with overseas Confucius Institutes, to provide richer cultural products and cultural service in better quality for the teachers and students of Confucius Institutes, and to build our library into World Confucian Document Collection Center.
The planning and construction of Confucius Institute Headquarter Experience Center followed General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech addressed during his inspection of Qufu city, under the guidance of Hanban, adhered to the principle of “making clear the four points” so as to making clear the thread, value and impact of Confucianism. After over-one-year construction, the experience zone of Chinese excellent traditional culture in life application and the library were finished successfully.
