On the morning of September 27th, 2017, Young Doctor Forum of the 8th World Confucian Conference was grandly opened at the Confucianism Hall of Confucius Research Institute. Director of Policy Research Department of Hanban and general secretary of the council of World Sinology Congress Wang Yong, the member of the standing committee of Jining municipal Party Committee and director of Propaganda Department Li Changwen attended the opening ceremony of the forum and gave speech. The deputy dean of Confucius Research Institute Liu Xubing presided over the opening ceremony. The member of the academic committee of Confucius Research Institute and professor of Tsinghua University Fang Zhaohui, professor of Zhejiang University Jia Haisheng, professor of Qufu Normal University Cheng Jichun, professor of Jining University Wang Qinhong, the specially expert of Confucius Research Institute, Taishan scholar of Shandong province and professor of Peking University Gan Chunsong, the specially expert of Confucius Research Institute, Taishan scholar of Shandong province and professor of China University of Political Science and Law Lin Cunguang, the specially expert of Confucius Research Institute and Nishan Scholar of Jining city Cheng Qili, the specially expert of Confucius Research Institute and Nishan Scholar of Jining city Professor Xie Guangyu, the secretary of the Party Committee of Mencius Research Institute Zhao Yonghe, manager of Nishan Sacred Scenery Hua Xiaoning, representatives of the standing committee of Tianshui municipal Party Committee, American Confucius Foundation, New York Association of Shandong Townsmen and so on and the reporters attended the opening ceremony.

It has been ten years since the inaugural meeting of the World Confucian Conference, during which we have build the platform for international academic exchange and made abundant academic achievements. In order to build the good platform for the young doctors to exchange academic achievements and contact the Confucian masters toe to toe, encourage them to further think and study Confucianism and Chinese traditional culture, as the Secretariat of the World Confucian Conference, Confucius Research Institute held the first Young Doctor Forum and invited the renowned scholars to serve as the supervisor in 2015, during the 7th World Confucian Conference.
The Young Doctor Forum of the 8th World Confucian Conference inherited the purpose of the first World Confucian Conference. Over 150 young experts and doctors from nearly 20 countries and regions such as the mainland of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Africa, Australia, U.S.A., Britain, Macedonia, Mongolia, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Tailand and Singapore gathered at the sacred land to enjoy Confucianism. The senior scholars set high expectations for the Young Doctor Forum. The winner of Confucius Culture Prize 2012, director of the academic committee of Confucius Research Institute and professor of Minzu University of China Mu Zhongjian, the winner of Confucius Culture Prize 2013, specially invited Confucian Master of Confucius Research Institute and professor of Chinese teaching of Peking University Roger T. Ames sent the congratulatory letter for the opening ceremony.
Dean of Confucius Research Institute and Researcher Yang Chaoming gave the speech of the Youth’s Mission in Chinese Traditional Propriety and Music Study.
After the opening ceremony, the thematic speech of Young Doctor Forum of the 8th World Confucian Conference was held which was presided over by the dean of Confucius Research Institute, vice president of International Confucian Association, vice president of Confucius Institute of China and Researcher Yang Chaoming. The member of the academic committee of Confucius Research Institute and professor of Tsinghua University Fang Zhaohui gave the speech of Rebuild Chinese Intellectuals’ Vision of Meaning. The specially expert of Confucius Research Institute, Taishan scholar of Shandong province and professor of Peking University Gan Chunsong gave the speech of Concern for Family, Nation and World Welfare under the Confucian Ideology. The specially expert of Confucius Research Institute, Taishan scholar of Shandong province and professor of China University of Political Science and Law Lin Cunguang gave the speech of Having a Thorough Knowledge of both the Natural Law and Humanity: On the Confucian Faith. The doctor of Confucius Research Institute and young expert of Shandong provincial Taishan Scholar Wei Yanhua and “Confucius New Sinology Plan” doctor student of Fudan University Ruan Shilian gave the speeches of Judging the Height and Profoundity of Moral Civilization of Western Zhou Dynasty from Duke Zhou's "Sustaining Ruling by Laying down Traditional Propriety and Music System" and the Impact of Confucius’ Thought on Vietnam’s Education respectively.
Young Doctor Forum of the 8th World Confucian Conference was sponsored by Ministry of Culture of PRC and People’s Government of Shandong Province, organized by People’s Government of Jining City and Confucius Research Institute, assisted by Nishan Sacred Scenery. The theme of the forum was “the Confucian Faith, Li and Yue Civilization and Social Governmance”, with four sub-themes including “the characteristics of the Confucian faith”, “Liyue civilization and China in varied dynasties”, “the Confucian wisdom and the rebuilding of the state of ceremonies” and “Chinese Liyue and the common value of human beings”, provided the opportunity for the young doctors to share academic thoughts and experiences through the acitivities of the Confucian Night Talk, academic speech and discussion, Confucius Memorial Ceremony and so on.
Before the opening ceremony, the music of Confucius of Thousands of Years Ago and Propriety and the video of “reviewing the past World Confucian Conferences” were played again and again, besides, the anthem of the World Confucian Conference and Confucius Research Institute of Footsteps of Civilization Was played too.
